The Christian Science Nursing Arts (CSNA) curriculum consists of four courses. The first course is titled CSNA I: Introductory Christian Science Nursing Arts. Our next CSNA I class will be held June 11-July 5. In preparation for the class, Heather Worley and Caitlin Sheasley, instructors at the BA, will host a webinar that takes a closer look at the CSNA I course and discusses how the Christian Science Nursing Arts training supports a developing practice of Christian Science nursing.
Caitlin: There is a great need for more members of The Mother Church to come forward and represent themselves as Christian Science nurses. In support of that, this webinar will talk through some of the details of our introductory level course. The webinar will provide an inside look into CSNA I and is designed for anyone who might be considering this ministry…or for anyone who is prayerfully supporting Christian Science nursing in our movement!
Heather: One of the things that’s key about the training is that we’re not looking to turn people into Christian Science nurses. We’re here to support individuals who are already exemplifying the qualities and spiritual-mindedness needed for this work. For example, in the By-law “Christian Science Nurse” Mrs. Eddy asks that a Christian Science nurse be one who has a demonstrable knowledge of Christian Science practice. This is something that members of The Mother Church who come for support with training are showing evidence of in their daily lives.
Heather: Yes! We’re so grateful to have three other Christian Science nurses join us for the webinar. Mark Palkoner, Danis Collett, and Daiza Cuyaman will share what prompted them to look into Christian Science nursing. I think people will really enjoy hearing each of their unique stories.
Caitlin: Absolutely. The best way to receive the replay is to register for the webinar, and we’ll automatically send it to you on April 12, the day after it takes place. And we’re happy for you to share it with anyone who might be interested!
