On a sunny Sunday afternoon in St. Louis, the BA joined more than 25 other Christian Science affiliated organizations for a Career Fair for Christian Scientists, sponsored by Asher Student Foundation and The Albert Baker Fund.
The purpose was to present career opportunities to students and job seekers, but the impact of the event was so much greater. It was inspiring to see so many organizations gather together, and to recognize that each one is supporting our Cause in its own unique way, with a talented staff of dedicated Christian Scientists.
The BA was represented by Heather Worley, Senior Christian Science Nursing Arts Instructor & Mentor, Caroline Savoye Hufstader, Senior Development Officer, and Katie Rooprai, Marketing Manager.
We shared some of the wonderful career opportunities and internships available at the BA, how much fun it is to live and work in Boston, and how the BA is able to offer subsidized housing to associates - a great help for students just moving to the city. Our conversations with those who visited our table included sharing the history of the BA and its purpose in supporting the healing mission of our Church. It was a delight to have so many Christian Science nurses who have trained at the BA greet us with a warm embrace. And Heather even had a full conversation in Spanish with a job-seeker from Argentina!
I never really knew about Christian Science nursing until this summer where I worked with so many wonderful Christian Science nurses at camp. Now I’m interested in learning more about the training.
Learn more about all of our available opportunities on our website, where you can easily complete an online application. And a big thank you to Asher Student Foundation and The Albert Baker Fund for bringing us all together!
