Our Christian Science Nurses Training School is starting the year with CSNA II: Basic Christian Science Nursing Arts. This group of seven participants comes from five different facilities (Arden Wood, the BA, Peace Haven, Sunland Home, and The Leaves) and represent five different countries (Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, United States)!
For many participants this is their first time in Boston and their first time attending services at The Mother Church. But for all participants this course is an opportunity to cultivate the art of Christian Science nursing.
The CSNA II course addresses the healing ministry of Christian Science nursing, including spiritual qualities, ethics, sound judgment, and the art of ministering to the patient and his needs. Practical skills are taught in support of cleanliness, comfort, communication, rest, activity, nourishment and surroundings. And the CSNA II course addresses ministering to others in support of healing both in the refuge of a Christian Science facility and in the home setting. Participants will spend five weeks in the classroom at the BA, followed by 7-12 months of mentored instruction at their own facility.
How grateful we are to welcome these participants to the BA!
